Jova House - Casablanca Cafe

The Jova House is notable as the first home constructed on Fort Lauderdale Beach and the oldest remaining structure on that site. It is one of only a few surviving examples of Architect Francis Luis Abreu’s work in Fort Lauderdale. The design is in the Mediterranean Revival style, blending Spanish and Middle Eastern influences.

Today, the Jova House operates as Casablanca Cafe, an oceanfront dining destination known for its preserved 1927 architecture, live piano bar evenings, and a menu blending fresh seafood with coastal classics. Its historic setting continues to draw attention from local media and travel publications, cementing its role as both a culinary landmark and a treasured piece of Fort Lauderdale’s heritage.
