May is officially National Historic Preservation Month in the city of
Fort Lauderdale. The City issued the Proclamation on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the City Hall Commission chamber.

BEFORE CONTEST ENDS

This MCMQ contest kicks off the evening of the Proclamation by the City of Fort Lauderdale during the month of May.
broward trust for historic preservation is sponsoring this Contest.

The contest:  search for examples of Mid-Century Modern
Architecture and photograph them.

1. Contestants of all ages are eligible.
2. Contestants search for examples of local Mid-Century Modern architecture (residential or commercial) within the City of Fort Lauderdale and photograph the models found
3. There will be three place winners. All three winners are based on the number of photographs submitted.
4. Submit all photos and the address of each property to info@browardtrust.org no later than midnight on May 25, 2022. Within the Subject line, state, Mid Century Modern Quest.
5. Three winners (first, second, and third) will be selected based on the number of photographs submitted. All photos submitted must be original and no duplicates.

First place

a select winning photo will be featured on the broward trust for historic preservation website (browardtrust.org). the winner will be presented with a certificate of award and a ($50) gift card at the trust’s end-of-month dinner celebration.

second place

A select winning photo will be featured on the Broward Trust
for Historic Preservation website (Browardtrust.org) The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Award and a ten-dollar ($10) gift card at the Trust’s end of-the-month dinner celebration.

third place

A select winning photo will be featured on the Broward Trust
for Historic Preservation website (Browardtrust.org) The winner will be presented with a Certificate of Award and a five-dollar ($5) gift card at the Trust’s end of-the-month dinner celebration.

Bonnet House, the only day they are sponsoring a free tour is May 20, and the public must use the phrase “Historic Preservation Month” to book a complimentary tour.

The Old Dillard School House And Museum. Uses the phrase “Historic Preservation” to receive a free tour on May 12th.

History Fort Lauderdale offers a free tour Sunday, May 22, 2022. To receive the free tour, use “Historic Preservation” when calling the Museum.
