Dedicated to identifying, preserving, restoring and maintaining the architectural heritage of Broward County. Our Mission To preserve, restore and enhance the historic character of Broward County and support education and research with regards to historic preservation. To advocate historic designation of significant buildings and districts throughout the County and work for that status on local and, where appropriate, national levels. To increase the involvement of residents and visitors in preserving Broward County's historic legacies. To support other historic preservation communities in their endeavors. Our Goals To be an effective advocate for historic preservation in Broward County. To publicly identify priority properties worthy of designation. To conduct research, make application, and support nominations for historic designations. To be a resource for information about financial assistance and tax incentives for preservation projects. To showcase examples of preservation's impact on property values. To demonstrate the economic viability of restoring eligible historic, commercial and residential properties. To present annual awards for outstanding county restoration projects, examples of effective adaptive reuse, volunteer contributions for preservation and to recognize public leaders for effective support of historic preservation in Broward County. To collaborate with and support other preservation groups. To build bridges with developers, politicians and corporate leaders.
